Sand Management & Erosion Assessment

Our Sand Management & Erosion Assessment services provide our customers with independent product verification on wellhead equipment, pipework, valves, coatings and composite materials to assess erosion damage under controlled flow conditions. Our erosion flow rig combined with our CFD capability and over 20 years experience, makes NEL’s sand management services the obvious addition to your sand management toolbox.

NEL - Erosive flow test rig

With an international client base of oil & gas companies and equipment manufacturers, we have extensive experience in erosion testing and assessing erosion damage operating with:

By using the test data generated from our erosion test rig to validate the CFD erosion model, field conditions can be confidently modelled to predict erosion wear-life of components and equipment. Examples of components and equipment that can be tested and modelled at NEL include:
