Open Channel Flow Measurement: Reporting, Uncertainty Assessment and Modelling - Andy Johns and Alick MacGillivray, TUV NEL

This project was divided into two parts with the following objectives; • PART A. Investigation of the degree of rigour and consistency in the current method of open-channel flow measurement reporting and its corresponding uncertainty assessment. • PART B. Examination of the discharge behaviour of a typical open channel structure operating at its lower limits of applicability as defined by British Standard BS 3680. This analysis was used to ascertain whether these limits could be extended without producing significant degradation in the performance and increase in the uncertainty of the device.
