An Introduction to Data Analysis in Flow Measurement

A requirement for data analysis in flow measurement can arise in activities such as experimental flow meter research and development, calibration proving, qualification tests, factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, ongoing verification and in routine operation. The document starts from basic good practice in reporting data, and then considers statistical analysis of data sets containing random and/or systematic errors. Good practice in regression analysis and in graphical presentation is also considered. Finally, a statistical technique for assessing differences between similar data sets is provided.
