Physical Properties of Fluids

The Physical Property Data Service (PPDS) is a software suite used extensively in the chemical production, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, fine chemical, power generation and process industries.

It allows users to perform complex calculations and simulations across a wide range of process and engineering applications. The software was designed, developed and is maintained by TUV NEL staff.

PPDS provides users with quality assured, peer reviewed and fully traceable data which can be utilised through all stages of the process lifecycle from design and operation to maintenance and decommissioning.

PPDS is a core software product which is also used as part of TUV NEL’s consultancy package.

PPDS includes physical property information on more than 1,500 chemicals, constant and variable physical properties, thermodynamic model sets and flash calculations. The software and databases have been accredited to BS EN ISO 9001.

Special packages are available for petroleum fractions, aqueous solutions and refrigerants.

PPDS has been designed with an extensive tabular and graphical display, handles a wide choice of units and can utilised both as a stand-alone or fully networked application. Using industry standard software, users can develop their own templates. PPDS can also link to other industry standard databases, file generators and process simulators.
