TUV NEL undertakes research and development across key environmental areas including carbon capture and storage (CCS), produced water, oil-in-water and emissions to air.

Much of this work is focussed on support for regulation and the development of appropriate legislation and standards.

Current research and development themes include:

Carbon capture and storage
Stack emissions
The development of data to assess new oil-in-water analysis method measurements
The development of a CFD model to determine the measurement error on a number of flare gas meter installations.
