Flow meter calibration and flowmeter measurement services are carried out on the UK’s National Flow Measurement facilities.

Flow meter calibration
Utilising the UK’s primary standards or secondary reference system, flow meters are calibrated for the oil & gas, process, utilities and renewable power industry sectors.

Wind turbine testing and certification
The facilities at NEL’s National Wind Metrology Centre allow large and small turbines to be measured and tested.

Flow equipment testing
Pumps, valves, actuators and other critical flow equipment can be installed in our extensive flow facilities for test a, development and verification

Mechanical testing
A range of test services in support of structural integrity are available including oil and gas industry umbilicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Erosion Testing
We have an abrasive flow facility which reproduces the wear seen in sandy production flows and in drilling applications

Low carbon device testing
A wide range of low carbon energy devices can be tested on site at NEL’s facilities and at the Energy Technology Centre.

Emissions monitoring
Mobile teams of NEL staff will visit client sites throughout the UK to measure and report on emissions.

The multi-site experimental test facilities are backed by high-grade data acquisition instrumentation and skilled operators.
